I started my journey early morning with my five friends. I had breakfast and a cup of tea at the roadside. Stall near my hotel. Maner sharif is located out side the city area in patna. It is 20km away from the bus stand. Me and my friends choose to go by the bus. The way to dargah is from the village area and little bit crowed is also there.

People from across the city and out side the city had come to get blessing here. On the way, you would get the beautiful view of dargah taragarh situated at uphill. After 1 hour, I reached that village where it is situated. The town has tomb’s of Sufi saint’s makdoom yahya maeri and makdoom shah Daulat known as badi dargah and choti dargah.  It is indeed a tall structure and beautiful design. It’s important to cover your head while entering the premise. Certain parts of the shrine requires to wear a scarf or a cap. When I reached here, it was noon. The sun was high and the day was very hot.

Ibrahim Khan a follower and a government officer constructed this mausoleum in 1616 after death of Makdum in 1608. Hours can be spent in search of peace at this soulful shrine.  At the back side of the dargah one lake is situated where you can spend some time doing leisure activities. There is no better option than spending a day here if you are in Patna.

This was my first solo trip due to which it left me with memories for a lifetime. As a girl belonging to a conservative family it gave me enough time to explore the different places nearby the shrine. This site is full of the remnants of the historical past. In the ancient times the site served as a center of learning and knowledge. The architectural peculiarities are characteristics of Jehangir’s era. Till now Maner Sharif in Bihar is the best monument of the Mughals in eastern India.

Shortly after the shrine visit I boarded the bus after taking lunch at a nearby restaurant.
